Economic Development

Economic Development is
Our Priority

Jackson County, in conjunction with our partners listed below, has placed economic development at the forefront of our thoughts.  From high speed internet, becoming a “Certified 1gig Community”, our technologically advanced Regional Industrial Park, and certification as a “Work Ready Community”, we have laid the groundwork to power our community and entire region through the 21st century and beyond.

People's Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC)

The People’s Rural Telephone Cooperative (PRTC) has spearheaded the drive to bring high speed internet to our area and now offers 1 gig download speeds to all Jackson County, XXXXXX County, and selected other areas–with plans to expand further.  They also offer assistance to businesses and corporations who wish to build/expand in Jackson County.

Jackson County Regional Industrial Park

Owned and operated by the Jackson County – McKee Industrial Development Authority, the Jackson County Regional Industrial Park continues to lead the way in providing jobs locally–and has room to accommodate more businesses who wish to build or relocate here.  Visit their website for currently available properties.

Jackson Energy Cooperative

Jackson Energy was incorporated as Jackson County Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation and has been powering Southeastern Kentucky since 1938.  In addition to powering our area, they offer many incentives to businesses looking to build or relocate here and they are very active in the economic development arena.  Visit their website for more info.
